Kim Clijsters crashes out of the Aus Open 2010

In a stunning fashion, Kim Clijsters has been knocked out of the Australian Open third round by Russian Nadia Petrova.

The first set took just under twenty minutes with Petrova taking it 6-0.The disbelieving crowd (including Clijsters' husband Brian Lynch) watched as Clijsters struggled with the game. While nothing can take away the fact that Petrova played solidly and aggressively, it is clear that Clijsters was her own worst nightmare on court.

The crowd did their best to cheer on the come-back queen but Kim Clijsters was obviously not at the top of her game as she then let Petrova win the first three games in the second set. She finally managed to hold serve but it was too little too late. Petrova won the second set 6-1, wrapping up the entire match in just under an hour (52 minutes).

Final score: Petrova defeated Clijsters 6-0, 6-1
